There are typically two stages in the divorce process which can run in parallel; declaration that the marriage has legally ended (known as a Decree Absolute) needs to be obtained from the courts and a financial settlement needs to be agreed.
Civil partnerships and same-sex marriages are subject to similar legal processes. We have specialist experience working with clients in civil partnerships and same-sex marriages and recognise the unique issues that can result from the dissolution of these relationships.
